How to prepare for your couple's boudoir session

If you’ve opted for a couple’s boudoir photography session, there are a few things you can do

that’ll help you mentally and physically prepare, in order to ensure all goes well. Heed the

following advice and you’ll be golden!

1. Shop Together: Buying a few new outfits for your boudoir session is part of the fun! This

is a little more complicated in a couple’s shoot since you want to make sure that your

respective outfits work together. For example: him in jeans and without a top and her

wearing his shirt; both in black, etc.

2. Talk About It: Take some time to discuss what you want to get out of this shoot. Write down

the reasons you’re doing the session and what you want to accomplish throughout the process.

3. Get Used to the Idea: Even if you and your partner are extremely close, being in front of

a camera together — especially in a boudoir setting — can naturally make you nervous.

Set aside an hour together to pretend as if you’re doing the shoot (sans camera!) and

practice what feels comfortable.

4. Ask Your Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask questions throughout the process. I’m always

an email, phone call, or DM away, and I want to make sure you feel completely

comfortable and prepared as we go into your shoot!
