Lynzee's Story
Howdy yall!
Most of you may recognize my name, I'm fortunate enough to have met some of y'all too! I've been honored that some of you even girl-crushed on my photos. But I realized most don't know how I met our Strawberry, Ericka.
Years ago, sometime in Jan of 2021, I was thinking of doing something for me but also for my husband. I remember a friend once did boudoir and I wanted to have some for myself. I wished I had done it sooner, before kids, when I felt beautiful. At this point in time, I was only 24, but I had 3 kids already. I was self-conscious I didn't look the same.
With that on my mind, I decided the time was now
because I didn't want to live in regret that I didn't do it sooner.
So, I went onto my military spouse page and asked for nearby photographers. And boy, were there a lot of responses. With Ericka being the third or so comment, she wasn't the first I looked at. But she was the first and only one I called once I looked at her portfolio.
What I didn't know was that I would be the first client for Strawberry Boudoir in Washington
(she had just moved from Alaska). It's an honor I kinda brag about, lol.
I was so nervous every day leading up to this. I didn't know what to bring, I had old, too small lingerie, so I bought some forgetting Ericka had a client closet. I didn't tell my husband since this was a surprise, so all the excitement and nerves were definitely there. TMI moment, but all the nerves even led me to have my period early! So I panicked and ran to the store to get a menstrual cup so I didn't have a string out. Little did I know that Ericka isn't squeamish to that. Either way, I arrived with a smile, Ericka and Kailey opened the door wearing masks (this was during Covid), but I could see their smile and excitement. They asked if I felt comfortable with or without the masks, so I knew then they were very conscious in making their clients safe and comfortable.
Makeup Time
Immediately, we started with makeup, I expressed that as long as my eyebrows were on point, I didn't care how else she did my makeup. I assume she was going to do smokey eyes with red lips, but her advice and skill showed that a more natural appearance was the way to go since it highlighted my natural features and brought out my eyes better.
Getting to the photo part.
I immediately felt comfortable in my body with Ericka, so much so I just started stripping, getting into my lingerie, ready to get this party started! Ericka, being the pose expert, guided me in what to do, and I listened to the best of my ability. She really made me feel as confident as I was before having kids. I was so overwhelmed with excitement just feeling myself again. Feeling good and beautiful.
I was almost in tears because I felt I lost myself, and Ericka made me feel like my old self again. But when I saw my final product I cried. I saw myself again.
I didn't see a mom or a wife, I saw ME.
Many moms understand the feeling of losing oneself. Ericka made me see ME. I went home after the reveal, waiting for my products to come in. When they did, I ran home because they were a gift for my husband too. When he saw them.. let me just say, it reignited a spark in our marriage. He and I are high school sweethearts, together for 9 years at that point, but life and kids started to dull it, and this session helped not only me but us too.
I needed more!

Maternity sessions too!
Totaling to nearly 10. And I so wish I've done more.
Ericka has really welcomed me into her heart, many girls' nights, and has become an ear if I need it because she really is a girls girl.
If someone is on the fence about doing a session, I say do it now, do it for you!
Don't wait and years later regret not doing it sooner. Do it now and again in a few years even!
Because your body is beautiful in every stage.
Do it now to see how beautiful you are.
